VICE GANDA is the standard by which successful stand-up comedians are measured.
Why? Because he is the most successful. He broke box-office records. He shattered record-breaking feats. He set trends. He is fashionable. He is an icon.
Best of all, he is PHENOMENAL!!!
Unsurpassed, he holds the record of the highest grossing film. Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin holds the distinction of being the biggest blockbuster movie, earning P440 million. His Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy movie earned P436 million, his second highest grossing movie.
He broke his own record when starred in the Metro Manila Film Fest entry, Sisterakas, as it was the highest grossing film for that year.
Again, he made the same feat nang ipalabas ang Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy which was the highest grossing film of 2014.
The beginning
Six years ago, ipinanganak si Vice Ganda sa It’s Showtime!. Nakilala ang kanyang brand of comedy na prangka sa pamamagitan ng show. Aliw na aliw ang mga tao sa kanyang pagtataray as it was peppered with sarcasm.
Sumikat ang It’s Showtime! all because of him. Doon nagsimula ang paglaki ng kanyang pangalan. Doon nag-start ang lahat. It’s Showtime! made him the Phenomenal Star that he is today.
Pinatunayan ni Vice Ganda na kayang bumida ng stand-up comedian sa isang noontime show. Kaya niyang maging sikat.
Long before Vice Ganda, there were already established stand-up comedians na nag-showbiz. The likes of Pooh, Ethel Booba, Chokoleit, Allan K, K Brosas, Gladys Guevarra, Arnel Ignacio, Inday Garutay, Lenard Obal have at one time or another plunged into showbiz. Lahat sila nagkapangalan sa showbiz. But nothing as phenomenal as Vice’s.
There’s only one Vice Ganda. Kinabog niya lahat ang stand-up comedians when his popularity soared to STRATOSPHERIC PROPORTION. Nag-iisa lang siya sa kanyang liga, umatched.
Siya lang kasi ang nagkaroon ng pagkakataon na maging multi-media star. Hindi lang siya pang-TV kundi pang-movie at pang-music din. And he also appeared in a slew of TV commercials.
Currently, he appears in two shows, It’s Showtime! and Gandang Gabi Vice.
Trends
Maraming pinausong salita, expression o sayaw si Vice Ganda. Her pucho-pucho, may nag-text, ansaveh, unkaboggable, and even the expressions i-Aryana mo ako, i-Kathryn Bernardo Mo Ako, I-Dawn Zulueta mo ako were hits. Naging hit din ang kanyang Teach Me How To Dougie dance, Super Bass, Gangnam Style and Gwiyomi impersonations. His Boom Kara-Karaka became viral, maging ang Whoops Kiri dance niya ay naging craze sa mga kabataan.
Humility amidst controversies
Just as when people think he is full of himself, masyadong mataray at hindi marunong mag-sorry, ipinakita ni Vice Ganda na he is a humble guy.
When he felt he offended GMA host Jessica Soho sa kanyang joke sa isang concert niya, agad-agad siyang nag-sorry. He called up Jessica and apologized for his misdemeanor.
Just recently, he humbled himself anew when he said na hindi nila matatalo ang Eat… Bulaga!.
Fashion Trend
Vice Ganda is the queen of gay fashion. An icon. His flair for trendy clothes is a given. He’s not afraid to try something new. Nag-bikini siya sa isang beach sa US and fans were excited to see it. His sartorial taste is also an item of praise. He wears his wigs in exciting colors, shapes and sizes. He wears boots, pumps, tattered jeans, hoodies, gowns, short shorts, oversized tees. He wears anything that is fashionable and chic.
Vice scored a major fashion feat when he landed on the cover of Mega magazine for the month of September. He was the only openly gay icon which made it to the cover of the prestigious magazine. Vice’s cover pictorial was shot in Hokkaido, Japan.
Vice Ganda is wrapping up work for Beauty and the Bestie, his entry into the Metro Manila Film Festival. He is paired with close friend Coco Martin in the movie.
As expected, Vice will display in great abundance his iconic fashion sense in the movie.
Vice’s life is as colorful as the wigs he wears and clothes he dons.
