Isasadula ng PSF ang dark era of Philippine history in the 1970s.
“This is a personal advocacy more than anything. When I read posting on line, they said that the Marcos era was the glorious days of the Philippine history. I can’t help but react. I’m a writer then writing for like 20 years already and I never takle anything like this.
“Ang sa akin lang, kailangan na ngayon. ‘Yung lahat ng mga sinulat ko, I don’t have personal knowledge about it. But this one, I have personal knowledge. In a way, my family was affected by the evil of martial law and I really have to do this not only for myself…” makabuluhang sabi ni Vince.
“I just want to educate the young people about the martial law. Our resource people here are victim of martial law. They were torture and we were crying the entire time they were talking. The past five presidents didn’t do anything about it. We have seen the various textbooks. Itong mga millenials, nag-aral sila. It was briefly mention, hindi mahaba para magkaroon ng effect. So, if the 5 past presidents did not do anything… I mean, including martial law or this dark era of the Philippine history in the curriculum for education. Me as an artist, I have duty and power to utilize the art. To utilize my craft which I have perfected for almost 2 decades. To inspire and to educate the young people,” paliwanag ng magaling na actor/director.
The good things about this play, ipi-present ni Vince ito sa mga estudyante. ‘Yun ang challenge para sa kanya. “This is not a one side story. We will do our part as an artist.
This particular play focus on the real event that transpired during the Marcos era. Nand’yan ‘yung welga sa La Tondeña. Nand’yan ‘yung mga tino-torture. Nand’yan ‘yung curfew and I’m sure makare-relate ang mga kabataan, at nand’yan ‘yung Edsa revolution. I hope that all of you will tell your readers that I am not pro-Aquino, I was not paid by the yellow (Aquino). Hindi ako maka-Aquino, I am doing this because this is part of history and we really need to educate the people,” pahayag ng Palanca winner na si Vince.
Napag-alaman din namin, this particular play will be feature saTV show ni Korina Sanchez-Roxas (August or September 2016) and various news program.
Grand premiere on August 11, 2016 at the Adamson University Theatre.
