Patuloy na umaani ng kritisismo at batikos ang inasal ni Willie Revillame sa noontime show na Wowowee nu’ng Lunes, August 3, nang ipaalis niya ang live video stream ng paglilipat ng mga labi ng dating Pangulo na si Corazon Aquino mula La Salle Greeenhills patungong Manila Cathedral sa Intramuros, Manila. Naka-inset ang naturang video footage ng dating presidente sa TV show habang nagsasayaw ang isang contestant. Hindi ito nagustuhan ni Willie, at sa tono na may pagkairita, ipinatanggal ng TV host ang footage. “I don’t think na dapat ipakita ‘yan, management. Kung ganyan, ipakita na lang natin ‘yan. Nagsasaya kami dito tapos ipapakita n’yo ‘yan. Hindi tama, ‘di ba? Pagkatapos ng show, ipakita n’yo ang gusto n’yong ipalabas,” banggit pa ni Willie.
Isang online petition na rin ang sinimulan ni Roel Saguisag para tanggalin si Willie sa sarili nitong TV show. As of this writing, nasa 22,831 signatures na ang nasa petisyon ni Saguisag at bawat segundo ay nadadagdagan ito. Sa website na www.petitiononline, ang ‘Petition to Oust Willie Revillame’ ang ikalawa sa pinaka-active na naka-post doon.
Sa open letter ni Saguisag, pahayag nito: “Willie have chosen to let the contestant dance instead of cutting short her act and give way to the coverage of the cortege. Willie have chosen to blurt out his rude comments ON-AIR instead of Off-cam. In short, Willie has chosen to have fun instead of giving way to the funeral of Pres. Corazon Aquino. So they’d rather have fun instead of pay our respects to our democracy icon? That was not a good example to our youth today.
“Was it really hard for him to be humble and human? I believe that this is not the first time that he aired his views and rather arrogant comments on-air. He embarrasses his staff, makes fun of the contestants, and arrogantly acts on TV almost everyday. Pres. Aquino taught us humility, and Revillame is showing us the exact opposite: arrogance.
“This time, Willie’s statement should be condemned not only by the public, but by the management of ABS-CBN as well. It also creates a public outrage in the internet forums, chatting boards, and online-newspapers. Majority have negative reactions and have condemned Willie Revillame’s brutal statements.”
Sa resulta ng survey na isinagawa sa website ng Pinoy Parazzi (www.pinoyparazzi.net), marami ang naniniwalang pambabastos ang ginawa ni Willie.
Samantala, na-violate din daw ni Willie ang broadcast code of ethics ng KBP [Kapisanan ng Brodcaster ng Pilipinas] at ang Sec. 3 ng PD 1986 ng MTRCB [Movie and Television Review and Classification Board], ayon sa chairman ng board na si Consoliza Laguardia. “Personal kong tingin, objectionable ‘yung ginawa ni Willie, kasi, puwede niyang ginawa ‘yun off-cam,” dagdag pa nito.
Magkakaroon daw ng meeting ang KBP at MTRCB para mapag-usapan kung anong kaparusahan ang maipapataw sa violation ni Willie.
