SA WAKAS ay nagkatotoo na ang kasabihang “Pagkahaba-haba man daw ng prusisyon, sa simbahan din ang tuloy” kina Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legaspi who tied the knot last November 15 at Fernbrook Gardens, Alabang. The couple has been together for 12 years.
Justice Amy Javier of the Court of Appeals officiated the wedding ceremony which was attended by the couple’s families and close friends. The principal sponsors included Kris Aquino, Eric Quizon, Grace Poe-Llamanzares, Ben Chan, Felix Ang and John Concepcion. I am happy to be part of the surprise but solemn wedding together with Tita Susan Roces, Maricel Soriano, Tirso Cruz III, among others.
Walang kamalay-malay si Carmina sa mga pangyayari who thought it was a commercial shoot. She was totally clueless. Kasabwat ni Zoren ang kanilang twins na sina Cassy at Mavy, pamil-ya at mga malalapit na kaibigan ni Carmina sa kanyang ginawang surprise marriage proposal which took place under a man-made cherry blossom tree. He gave her an emerald cut engagement ring. Kuwento ni Cassy, “For the ring, I have the same hand as my mom. They used my hand as my mom’s hand to fit the ring.”
Sa pag-aakalang dito na nagtatapos ang sorpresa para sa kanya ay lalong nagulat si Carmina when she was told that they will also get married that same day.
Carmina looked resplendent in her wedding gown created by Paul Cabral. She was emotional while walking with her kids. Makahulugan naman ang mensahe ni Zoren sa ama ni Carmina, “Gusto ko pong humingi na apology dahil baligtad po ang nangyari. Nauna po ang kambal kaysa sa kasal. At the same time, gusto ko pong magpasalamat dahil tinanggap mo ako ng buong puso.”
It took two months to prepare for the wedding pero ang mas mahirap na parte nito ay kung paano ililihim ang lahat kay Carmina.
Parang isang fairy tale ang love story nina Carmina at Zoren. She was only 13 years old nang unang magka-crush sa kanya si Zoren. After several years, they’ve crossed paths again. Isini-lang ni Carmina ang kanilang twins sa Amerika noong 2001. Naging masaya ang kanilang pagsasama. Her marriage with Rustom Padilla was finally annulled na naging daan para matuloy na ang kanilang much-awaited wedding.
Although it took them 12 years to get married ay tila mas lalo raw tumibay ang kanilang pagsasama dahil sa kanilang kasal. Carmina said, “If you think about it, iyong relationship natin para sa atin [is] close to perfection. We don’t fight. Bickering, yes. Para ta-yong sitcom. Nilu-look forward ko iyong buhay ko na ganoon pa na maging sitcom hanggang maging lolo at lola na tayo.”
“Kaya when you were asking me that question kung gaano kita kamahal noong gabing iyon kaya ‘di rin kita masagot kasi I have to prove it. So isa ito honey sa pagpapatunay ko sa iyo na mahal kita and iyan ay patutunayan ko pa araw-araw,” sagot ni Zoren.
